Coming Soon: AGTC Banchory Hub

AGTC is developing a new dedicated gymnastics facility in Banchory to expand opportunities for children and young people across Deeside. The new hub will include specialist gymnastics equipment, improved training space and the capacity to welcome more than 500 children each week across our programmes.

Planning permission for change of use has been approved, and we are now working with the landlord and architect to finalise the internal layout and building warrant.

The new Banchory Hub will allow us to:

  • Reduce waiting lists and increase class capacity
  • Offer more preschool, recreational and pathway sessions
  • Deliver holiday camps and community programmes
  • Improve accessibility for local families
  • Create a long-term sustainable gymnastics base for Deeside

About AGTC

A community-led gymnastics charity supporting children across Deeside

WHO WE ARE

Aboyne Gymnastics Club (AGTC) is a community-led Scottish charity providing safe, inclusive gymnastics opportunities for children and young people across Deeside.

We deliver structured gymnastics sessions for a wide range of ages and abilities — from preschool and beginner classes through to recreational, pathway and competitive training. Our focus is on helping children enjoy being active, develop confidence, and build skills in a positive and supportive environment.

AGTC exists to make gymnastics accessible and enjoyable for local families. As a charity, everything we do is guided by the needs of our members and the wellbeing of the children in our care.

We are proud to be rooted in our local community, working closely with families, volunteers and coaches to create a welcoming club culture. Our sessions are designed to be fun, progressive and age-appropriate, allowing each child to develop at their own pace.

HOW WE’RE RUN

Aboyne Gymnastics Club (AGTC) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) run by a board of volunteer trustees. The trustees are responsible for the governance of the club and ensure that AGTC operates in line with its charitable aims and legal responsibilities.

Day-to-day sessions are delivered by qualified coaches who are supported by assistants and volunteers. All coaches and volunteers working with children are appropriately checked and trained, and we follow the guidance and requirements of Scottish Gymnastics at all times.

As a not-for-profit charity, any income generated by the club is reinvested back into coaching, equipment, facilities and programmes that benefit our members and the wider community.

This structure allows us to remain community-focused while maintaining high standards of safety, accountability and coaching quality.

WHY WE EXIST

AGTC exists to give children and young people a safe place to move, learn and grow through gymnastics.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be active, build confidence and feel proud of what their body can do — regardless of ability, background or experience. Gymnastics at AGTC is about more than skills; it’s about enjoyment, resilience and belonging.

As a community-led charity, our focus is always on children first. We aim to create an environment where young people feel supported, encouraged and able to develop at their own pace, while families feel confident that their child’s wellbeing is our priority.

Everything we do is guided by what helps children feel safe, included and motivated to take part.

PUTTING CHILDREN FIRST

The wellbeing of every child at AGTC is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, positive and supportive environment where children can enjoy gymnastics and take part with confidence. All coaches and volunteers working with children are appropriately checked and trained, and we follow recognised safeguarding and wellbeing guidance at all times.

Clear procedures are in place to promote good practice and to ensure that any welfare concerns are taken seriously and responded to appropriately. We encourage open communication with families and work together to support each child’s needs.

Creating a safe and caring environment allows children to focus on enjoying gymnastics, developing skills and building confidence.

INCLUSIVE & WELCOMING

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported and valued. Our sessions are designed to be accessible and adaptable, allowing children of all abilities to participate, progress and enjoy gymnastics at their own pace. We promote kindness, respect and confidence, ensuring every child feels they belong at AGTC.
